this is what you should be eating everyday...
based on the food pyramid chart... and some
careful shatzy calculations.
my research consisted of:
<ul type="square">[*] separate food groups[*] serving size amounts per selection per group[*] MINIMUM suggested serving per group[*] lowest saturated fat content[*] taste variety
thar she blows!
so i was bored...
and as questioned a few months ago, i was
curious how well the food pyramid held true
to its claim of providing the minimum amount
of healthy nourishment provides best health status.
they can't be serious.
after extensive research, i had found the
suggested serving size of a plethora of
items for each food group. this wasn't easy.
the pyramid chard says:
<ul type="square">[*] 2-3 servings of dairy[*] 3-5 servings of veggies[*] 2-3 servings of meat[*] 2-4 servings of fruit[*] 6-11 servings of grains
...but yet, how much of X equals a serving???
bah! no need to calculate! i have done the
work for you.
here's what the picture means translated:
DAIRY:1 cup of milk
4 containers (2 oz. each) unflavored yogurt
(sorry... its hard to find unflavored yogurt
images on the net)
8 oz. of cheese -- which is 0.25 of a regular
block of cheese or, in the pic, one full
HALF a bag of cheese (the pic shows a bag
equalling 16 oz.... duh)
FRUIT:
2 selections of the following 3 fruits:
apple, banana, or orange
MEATS:
3 whole eggs
GRAINS:
2 slices of a standard loaf of bread
(compiled of the natural grains -- not
synthetic, like 'stone ground wheat flour')
1 entire 16 oz. package of spaghetti/pasta
VEGGIES:
1 whole can of tomato paste (to go with the pasta!!!!)
*********************
this is based on the variables listed above.
again, this is the minimum suggestion of
servings per person on a daily basis. that
means, that the items on the tray (pic)
consist of:
2 servings of dairy, 3 servings of veggies,
2 servings of meat, 2 servings of fruit,
and 6 servings of grains.
... which means it is implied to consume
MORE servings than what i have shown.
is anyone gonna tell me that, after eating
this shit.... (and with proper exercise!!!)
that they will be exceedingly healthy in as
far as not looking bulbous and fat-assed???
you've gotta be kidding me!!!!

its the 'and then some' thats the problem.
imagine this:
you are only allowed to eat what is on the pic...
maybe twice a day max... everyday.
an entire package of spaghetti???
twice a day???
do you realize how much that is???
PLUS all that other stuff???
you can't be serious.

thats my point, hanny.
guidlines should at least be somewhat consistant
on the nature of the effects they are said to cause.
if the guidelines are wrong.... then what are they really saying?
